Hi all! I just Picked up a 93 lesabre today. Apart from the a/c compressor problem, and someing that, from the looks of it, cleaned it with a brillo pad, it's not bad ,for $300. Hopefully the gas milage will be better then the Crown Vic I was driving.

Has anyone ever had the A/c compressor lock up? My father had the car for a week or so before I Picked it up. He told me the a/c compressor was locked causing the belt to smoke. he got it free with some oil, but it make a rattle/knocking noise.

Anywho, just wanted to say hello. Nice place you all have here.

 

Its called the black death.. The pump puts black oil in all the system and it re-damages all the parts. Plugs expansion valves etc..

Usually too costly to repair..
