Default 2010 LaCrosse display does not indicate "door open"

My 2010 Buick LaCrosse does not indicate that the door is open. The radio does not shut off and the drivers window does not work. All other windows work from the passenger controls. I had the panel off to check the power and it seems that no power is going to the drivers window control. Could my door latch need replaced?

3 different problems, no clear solution to any of them? Depends on window circuit if negative or positive is completeing the door switch circuit as to maybe why no voltage reading appears. In other words wiring may go to motor first and switching ground completes cycle.

Auto companys will do things like that which makes no sense. Time for a new car lol.... The 2017 LaCrosses look great, think the price dropped also for base model.

Thanks for the response. Looks like I need to check deeper into the wiring.

My LaCrosse has been a great car. I love it! This has been my only issue in over 100,000 miles. I would buy another one but I'm not ready.

Roger that on when ready. Had 2 I ran up 175K miles over the years (not Buicks) and just bought our first one 1 1/2 years ago. Still under 6K on OD as retired and save on mileage to and fro work now.

Believe there is way too much gadgetry, don't use half the stuff. Forum gives me idea what's coming down the road, hmm. But so far a really well done car.

Too on a car voltage comes from the negative and returns on positive. So it's correct wiring but not like electrical, normally never switch a neutral (wire return to ground potential). Battery has negative/ground disconnected for service work.

I've got that exact car, with the same problems!
I'm trying to locate the switch/sensor that indicates to the system that the driver's door is open or closed. It feels like that would be a good place to start checking.

Mick1973, afterchecking all wiring connections, taking it to a shop (who did not know how to fix-didn’t charge me) I decided to purchase a window motor. I got a new original GM part from Amazon for$55.89 see description: ACDelco 20951579 Front Side Door Window Regulator Motor Assembly. Not sure if it is the left or right on you LaCrosse. I ordered it, checked out the Utube videos on how to replace, had it at my door 2 days later and installed it within 45 minutes. The toughest part was re-installing the new one. If you have large hands, it may take longer. Be sure you have a flexible magnet for dropped screws. Good luck and happy to help!

By the way, this new window motor fixed my problem.

Wow, by changing the motor all the other problems were solved!
Weird, LOL!
