Hello group. I am brand new to your site here. I pulled the fuel tank out from under my 1955 Buick Century and dumped the gas out of it. It looked like muddy water. The top of the fuel tank is covered with rust. I am trying to find a replacement fuel tank, or, has anyone here had any luck with cleaning and lining an old gas tank?

Hi Johnny, just seen your post. Over here in United Kingdom quite a few of our classic American car club owners have used the Eastwood Tank repair kit, this completely relines the inside. However, I do reccommend you get the tank to a shop that puts it into a trough that neutralises/cleans all the crud from inside, they will also be able to tell you if the tank is viable to save. Quite a few radiator repair shops offer this this service in UK. The other good thing is Eastwood is an US company so you should have no problem getting the kit, here it retails about $100 + shipping, so I guess over there it will be much cheaper. We like to look after our tanks here as gas is approx $12 a gallon!!! Good Luck, Rivragtop
