Default IMPROPER BATTERY REPLACEMENT, my journey

Hello all, I'm here to make sure Noone makes the same mistake I do. I own a 2013 buick lacrosse leather group. Over my battery is a component fuse box. So this is where I start. Our battery one day just died, think my daughter left the reading light on. Well we just kept jump starting it until we got a new battery. Once we obtained the new battery we decided to change It ourselves. We did not follow the guide to a T.... follow the guide to a T... not only did we damage the starter max fuse inside the box (new one coming today, March 29th 2022)( must order entire box replacement 52.99). We knocked out our eAssisted power steering. Which driving a car with power steering that isn't working....is the hardest thing in regards to a car. Also it burnt out our super expensive front lights. So listen if ever messing with the battery or components on a 2011-2017 be careful with that wack little box. Also if jumping look where to properly connect the cables. I will update if replacing the fuse box, and the fuse for eAssist fix everything.

**also P.S. We jumped the starter max fuse with comparable fusible links... I know this is dumb I get it, but our audi is in the shop.

A little FYI,

Newer vehicles need to have the vehicle computer notified that the battery has been replaced and a capable scan tool is required to do this.

Changing a battery today is a little more involved than just removing and installing another battery. Most , good battery suppliers will provide the info needed to do this at the time of purchase.
