Hello. I am Scott, and I have been having problems with my girlfriends car. This vehicle is a 90 Buick Century Custom. When she got it, the fuel gauge didnt work right. The fuel gauge used to stay on empty almost all of the time, and with half tank or so it would only move no more than a hare over, it wouldnt make it to a third ofonequarter mark. I replaced the sending unit, and now the gauge goes up to a 1/4 tank when it is completely full. Does anybody have any thoughts or ideas on this issue? Thanks in advance.

Is there any way the tank is internally damaged that would cause this to happen? The only other possibility is that the gauge isnt calibrated right. Should I go back and test the gauge? If noone has any ideas I will have to wait until monday to get into mitchell repair.Edited by: ufoforever

I would suggest you replace the gauge. Get a cluster from a bone yard or eBay. You can change the whole thing or (usually) the gauge mechanism will plug into the circuit board.
