I have a 2001 La Sabre and the on/off cruise control button done not work. The small light will come on but when you take you finger off the light will go out. The indicator on the instrument display does not ever light up. Could it be a bad switch in the steering wheel?

 

I have the exact problem as you on my 2002 LeSabre Limited. My cruise control is on my steering wheel.

Did you ever find out how to fix your problem?

Am surprised that nobody has been able to solve the query that I made in September. Would appreciate any assistance on the matter as I am planning on taking the old Buick on a long trek to the sunny south this winter if I can use the cruise control. We are retired seniors in our 80's.

If the switch wont stay lit, then its bad. Other common problems is the brake light switch out of adjustment or the high mount brake light burned out.
