Default Alternator wired to fuel injector?

Hello,

New to forum and Buick world. Just bought a 94 Park Avenue that had some issues we have been trying to fix.
The main issue is a high idle, in park and neutral, with excessive rpm even while driving. So far we cleaned out intake manifold and plenum and replaced the intake gasket. New iac and maf sensors. Cleaned out EGR valve and sealed that up. New o-ring gasket on the throttle. Cleaned grounds on electrical fuse boxes. Checked quite a lot for vacuum leaks, not ruling that out...
most of the time it idles around 2000, sometimes 1500 if I'm "lucky." Occasionally shoots up to 2500. We keep thinking it's a simple fix.

So we are trying to fix that and wondering if this is related, the alternator wire spliced to what looks like to be a fuel injector.

For full disclosure, it seems like cooling system needs to be flushed and the reservoir started "chugging" when the the engine temp went high. Maybe not related but would appreciate a diagnosis.

Thanks!

Red Alternator wire spliced to what looks like pink fuel injector wire. Red wire dangling in forefront comes out of same harness yet is unconnected.
