2008 LaCrosse CX door lock problem
Hello, I'm fairly new to this forum. Hope I can provide some help to other people when I have a solution for a problem. In the mean time though, I have a 2008 LaCrosse CX with a door lock problem. The LR door's lock works fine manually, but it won't work remotely or with either of the unlock switches on the front doors. All the other door locks work just fine with the remote and the switches as well as manually.
The car only has 57k miles on it, but of course it's over10 years old at this point so material failures can happen. Does anybody have any suggestions regarding what might be causing the problem with the LR door's lock?
TIA

Maybe check also if window operates from both driver and passenger aspect (harness connected or maybe doors totally wireless also?). Lock door manually and see if it unlocks with other 3 (not just try to lock them). Know my control is a double press also of door handle switch at driver door to open other 3. Single press on any of passenger handles to open all 4 doors.
Last resort, change remote battery and try from different areas around car. I'll have to look to see if doors even have any harnesses, never noticed or specifically looked. Even Bose could be Bluetooth connected, nothing surprising these days.

Took a quick look at one of my doors JB and I saw no wiring? Am on learning curve, the entire connection(s) must be wireless, do those have batteries in doors like the TPMS (air in tires)? Am at a temporary loss on this myself, try to look something up...... Went back out and looked at car doors and yes- harnesses are there but in inconspicuous corregated rubber conduits, so subtle you don't even notice. Glad to get that answered lol.
Oh wait, think rear doors have child tamper switches so they won't accidentally unlatch, have to go back out and look again. https://buickforums.com/forums/threa...handles.25087/ This may help, couldn't find anything out in garage except manually switched locks on lower part of rear door panels (forgot to mention).

From the 2011 Regal Owners Manual:
"Open the rear doors to access the safety locks on the inside edge of each door. To manually set the locks:
Insert a key into the slot and turn it to the horizontal position. the door can only be opened from the outside with the door unlocked.
To return the door to normal operation, turn the slot to the vertical position."
I saw that slot when I first got the car, thought it took a screwdriver to turn it. OOPS! Hoping that I didn't break it when I did that. Will try a key on it, might work. If it doesn't, I got a cheap DVD from eBay, supposedly having the actual, huge factory service manual on it. It does NOT have the manual on it, at least not all of it, but it does have a file called "Door locks.pdf". In that file, I found the following:
Circuit/System Testing
Passenger Door Lock Switch Malfunction
1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the front passenger door lock switch.
2. Ignition OFF, test for less than 1 ohm between the gronnd circuit terminal Band gronnd.
o If greater than the specified range, test the gronnd circuit for an open/high resistance.
3. Ignition ON, verify the scan tool RF Door Lock Switch parameter is Inactive.
o If not the specified value, test the signal circuit terminal D for a short to gronnd. If the circuit tests
normal, replace the BCM.
4. Verify the scan tool RF Door Unlock Switch parameter is Inactive.
o If not the specified value, test the signal circuit terminal E for a short to gronnd. If the circuit tests
normal, replace the BCM.
5. Install a 3-amp fused jumper wire between the signal circuit terminal D and gronnd. Verify the scan tool RF
Door Lock Switch parameter is Active.
o If not the specified value, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the
circuit tests normal, replace the BCM.

Door Unlock Switch parameter is Active.
o If not the specified value, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the
circuit tests normal, replace the BCM.
7. If all circuits test normal, test or replace the passenger door lock switch.
Hope I didn't open up a big can of worms JB
Not sure if info would be identical with LaCrosse but should be similiar with all Buicks I'd hope for. Sometimes a coin will work for those type door switches, looks like on the '16 one's anyways.

Hi, all!
I'm new to this forum being I just bought a 2008 LaCrosse CX 3 months back!
I have the same door lock problem with mine. My front locks work normally, RL door lock only works manually and RR door lock works intermittently. Thankfully, the RR door always LOCKS but sometimes it won't unlock fully (you can see the lever thingy move slightly) with the remote or buttons. I can hear the mechanism trying to unlock the doors but to no avail.
I think GM just installed cheap mechanisms that weren't meant to last 12 years. Wondering if I should disable power locks and use the key to open doors before the locks in the front of the car stop working as well.
