Default 04 Regal engine dies when you turn on the blinkers

Hi everyone.
New to the forum and need help with my 04 Regal. The engine dies when you turn on the blinkers. Any ideas on what I should look at first? A short maybe but why wouldn't it just blow a fuse. Any advice will be appreciated.
thanks, Steve

ok I have been working on the car all day. This is what is happening. When you turn the key to position #2 all of the dash lights start flashing and there are some buzzers going off. If I try to start the car it runs really rough and pretty much dies. If I turn on the blinker when all the dash lights are flashing they stop flashing and it starts normally and runs great. What could cause all the dash lights to flash on and off? Also when the car is running poorly after starting it with the lights flashing and I turn on the blinkers it dies right away. Could this be something with an alarm?
TIA
Steve

I really can't say whether this is definitely the problem, but a poor ground connection can cause circuits to seek alternate paths and that can be through dash lights, buzzers etc.
You didn't state the year, model, mileage and sometimes these pieces of info can help direct us to a logical path.
