How many Qts are required for transmission oil change for the 4t60e

 

if you are just dropping the pan to change the filter, it seems to fluctuate for me, but usually 4-5 qts. sometimesa 6th qt. but i believe the total system capacity is 12 qts.





I would get2 gallons, and save the extra for next time.Edited by: samueljackson

 

Thanks alot, I did end up putting 6 in and opened the 7th and maybe a 2 cups of that one. Even my 2500 turbo cummins dodge takes 5tqs and no more. I thought that was a little high but everything is fine now, think I'll change it again end of sumer I have another ? and don't know where to post about noise at air intake after 1st started for app. 4-5mins then gone, buddy said somethin about air idle valveing.
