I have a 1994 Park Avenue and I am having some trouble with the climate control. First with the system off, the outside air temp displayed is very high (ie 147 degrees) when the actual temperature is not that high (ie 75 degrees). When the system is set to auto or straight A/C, there is no way to adjust the temp in the car. You either get all cold air or all hot air depending on what temperature you have set. I thought maybe that the controller in the dash itself may have been the problem so I replaced it with a used controller purchased from a auto salvage yard. The controller had tested working before I recieved it. It did not fix my problem.

What other components are there in this system that might be causing this problem?

Thanks for any and all help.

I guess the first thing I would fix is the outside temperature readout. I am not intimately familiar with that but I do know that there is a temperature sensor in front of the radiator. If your read out is permanently"maxed out", I would check ifthat sensoris disconnected or the wiring is broken. However, I have seen extremely high readingsthat return to normal after some driving. I assume this isbecause ofheat comingoff the radiator.Edited by: MrBSS

PCM module.. Doesnt that control that?

The 147 sounds like a bad wire or +5 volts from PCM not there.

I had a bad sensor.. Junk yard replaced it.. very quickly.. Mine just quit doing its thing..

But External temp is not used too much on the internal.I would suspect CM tooif the replaced sensor didnt wake up to a normal temp.
