Just curious how much boost you can run an a GN? I was told as long as there is no knock then you are okay, is this true?

Patrick 01-05-2006, 05:09 PM well, every engine has its limits...do you have an air to fuel gauge, and an eGt gauge? GNXTC 01-05-2006, 08:57 PM Ok, here's what I have: Rebuilt w/ forged pistons, ported/polished intake & heads, 62mm throttle body, 3" exhaust & downpipe, #60 injectors, custom chip, te62 turbo, alcohol injected, K&N, 200R4 w/shift kit & 3400 stall, PTE front mount intercooler, EGT, boost, water temp, & oil pressure gauges. I'm going to install a different downpipe w/ an external wastegate. My boost gauge only goes up to #20, and I have pegged it all the way down to 6 o'colock, which I guess to be about #25, w/ no knock, that I could hear.smileys/smiley20.gif ChevyIIman 01-09-2006, 01:02 AM Well ive seen guys run them as high as 32+ with alky injection. With a forged bottom end and a fresh motor you should be good. But I suggest you get a boost guage that goes higher though. How are your Exhaust Temps? |
