Default Thermostat for my '95 RM

My '95 Roadmaster shows operating temperature just two marks from the minimum reading. So, when the temps are low outside, the heater doesn't work very well. I think the guy who replaced the water pump put a 160 degree stat in.

I've researched and found that OEM was 180. Would I be better off with a 195 degree stat? All new cars use them vs. the 180 for better mileage.

I put the 195 stat in with little help for the heater. I flushed the heater core with a garden hose by removing the hoses and running water backwards through it. A lot of crap came out--now the heater works great! Easy 10 minute job!
