I have a 91 Riviera, have replaced battery and key ignition module.Car will start, run momentarly then stop, will restart again and again but not continue to run. Mechanic says its not the fuel pump.Is this a anti-theft issue or what else could it be? Car was properly re- keyed to recognize new module. Help! damsel in distress.

are you getting any codes? when it cuts off, I take that everything else stays running, like the radio and lights? How long does it run, and when you say it starts right back, you mean just turn the key and it starts?

oh yeah, try this, when it starts hold the pedal all the way down, see what happens. Why did you rekey it? buy it used? did it sit any? It could well be the pick up in the tank is plugged, and when it cuts off the back wash from the lines clears the blockage.
