I guess I have a blown Head Gasket on my Riv 95 ,I bought my Daughter it For Graduation and it lasted 2-3 weeks and It broke down wouldn't start , Then got it going and then It over heated now with water in the oil,It won't start up, is there and engine kill on the motor if It over heats ? and How Hard is It to redo the Head Gaskets ?? Thanks For any Help Dave

head gaskets are extremely rare to fail. 9.9 out of 10 times, the intake gaskets fail, before the head gaskets. does this car have the supercharger in it? and how many miles? |
No it"s just 3800 130,000 Thanks for the good news >> PS Didn't really check it to good but there is water in the oilEdited by: redhawk77

what ever you do, DONT drive the car. check this out http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...e=article& k=38 the Upper intake is most likely to be your failure. And I would strongly recomend you change your lower intake gaskets at the same time. i would recomend this http://www.automotivepartsnetwork.co.../viewPrd.asp?i dproduct=229679 it was the best price i could find. from there you would just need the LIM gaskets. Look for the aluminum framed ones. |

Hey Samuel I'm taking off all the stuff on top of the motor is there a trick to getting the fuel rail off? ,Thanks Dave
|
once the bolts are out, you pull up on it with moderate force. there arent really any tricks for removal. leave the clips for the injectors. you can pull the rail and injectors all at once. and just set it off to the side. when you go to re-install the injectors, use a little vaseline on the new o-rings. |
Cool Thanks Ya Had no problem, I googled intake install and found instruction ,Thanks Dave Had no problem everything so far went good ,Thursday working on putting the alternator and hooking up the rest and that's it ! not bad,.
