Default Torque Rear Strut Shaft Nut @1990

Hi,

I'm looking for the torque spec. of the rear strut shaft nut on a 1990 2 door Regal 3.1 (the ones inside the trunk).

Any idea?

Thanks Martin

The big center nut on the top on the later models is 55 lbs.
Doesn't sound like much for such a big nut, but it seems right for what it's got to do.

Again, unfortunately that's for the later '97-'04 models, but if you don't get an answer about yours specifically, that might get you in the ballpark at least.

Good luck.

Paul

Hi,

thanks for this.

To tell from the force I had to come up with while loosening the nut,
I would not expect this to be far away from 55 lbs.

However one can be completely wrong.

But, as you mentioned, 55lbs sounds quite reasonable for what it does.

Take care,

Martin
