Default radio security code

I am driving my wife's '02 regal. We had a faulty battery issue a month ago and with the incredibly reliable and not at all frustrating Theftlock feature on the radio, I have been driving in silence since. Suprise suprise my wife never wrote down the security code and the dealership wants $65 to reset the code. Does anyone know of a free option to remove the security code?

Go to a different dealer. They are supposed to do it for free.

Default radio security code

On my car the code is written in owner's manual. And be careful not to put it wrong several times, otherwise it locks for ever.
