Which heater hose is the inlet on 3.8L ?

I want to install a flushing T on my 99 LeSabre. I am not sure which
heater hose is the inlet or the return. They both come out of the
engine in the same area near the water pump. If you can help me please
tell me if the inlet is the upper or lower hose thru the firewall.
