I have a 2002 buick lasabre with only 30,000+ miles and the rear window lift has to be replaced. I removed the panel and find the cable that lifts and lowers the window was frazzled and broke. This window rarely is used. I called a "junk yard" for a replacement and he reccomended not to get a used one since buicks and other gm vehicles has had a lot of problems with this. He said that he has bought a lot of new units for replacements and that was what I should buy. He said he could not keep the used ones in stock since it was a bad problem. The difference was only $25 so the new one is what I opted for. This new one was still in the shrink wrap carton sealed and boxed. I purchased the new one for $99.95 and the Buick dealership wanted something like $375.00.
I am wondering if any of you have had a problem like this and if you have contacted the buick customer service. If so what have they told you?

I have a 2000 LeSabre with 22K miles, and it has gone through two window regulators so far; drivers front and drivers rear.

I picked them up from Ebay new for around $50 each. They are very easy to install. The "stealership" wanted $450 to fix each window... The time involved in replacing them is only around 45 minutes each, and so much easier than on a Lincoln (Lincoln is riveted - Buick is bolted on). Somebody told me the aftermarket versions are no good - I laughed in their face and told them after 22K miles the OEM units die, so how could I believe that garbage.
