My 95 LeSabre cuts off, has no specific speed when it stops, mostly when the weather is hot, i think its the sensors but not sure. I put it on a machine and it read, something in the electric system but did not specify. the Lesabre want start sometimes,it will not even crank I would turn the ignition and the security light comes on,that enables it to crank. ANY THOUGHTS ON WHAT MIGHT BE THE PROBLEM.

Your Key.. Is highly suspect. VATS system..
http://www.thirdgen.org/vats_passkey_system
Its been known keys go bad. The resistor in them fails.

To test this you have to try another good key, if you have another.. Or..You can go to the dealer with the title papers and have a new one made. $45? If you can drive it to dealer try the new key at the dealer. If it dont work no charge.

If you do have another key and its still happening. You may want to disable the VATS, but it takes some circutry to append to the module.

OR.. there is a need for more symptoms to point in another direction. Like voltage problems and such.

GOOD LUCK

<DIV>hi there i have a '98 LeSabre and it does the same thing all the time!! </DIV>
<DIV>i had to get out, pop the hood, disconnect the battery cable conectors, leave it off for 15 minutes then try to start it again... </DIV>
<DIV>my battery cables were bad.</DIV>
<DIV>i had to have it serviced like 5 times for no start, get it towed and everything, but they always said they could not find the problem, that was all it was, apparently they go thru them quickly.</DIV>

I have heard you can reprogram the key to the TDM (theft deterent module).
Turn on the ignition. Wait 10 minutes for the security light to go out.
Repeat this three times and try to start the car.

Good Luck
