3.8L Which heater hose is the inlet hose?

I want to install a flushing T on my 99 LeSabre Custom and I am not sure which heater hose is the inlet and which one is the return. They both come out of the engine in the same area. If you can help me please tell me if the inlet is the top or bottom hose thru the fire wall. Thanks rd
