Attachment 826 I got this as my new company car May 22. Getting about 26 mpg overall so far. Probably 60% hwy. Like the ride, the quitness, the cloth of the seats, the sun roof. Edited by: markfnc |
1 month update - I have now had the Lacrosse for 1 month today. 3633 miles so far. I have put in 137.45 gallons which is 26.43 mpg. The worst tank of gas so far was 25.11 mpg, and the best tank was 27.28 mpg.
Someone bumped me in the parking lot yesterday. I slight crease in the front bumper. I think they must have hit me with a bigger tire as it had black rubber marks which i got off with goo be gone. I think i can get the crease out with a little push from the inside, if i can get to it. I like the sun roof, it has 8 way power seats but not even manual lumbar, which i really wish it had. Overall i would recommend this car. I like the looks of the 2008 better. |

Total miles 6319 Total gallons used = 243.16 Overall MPG = 25.99 Best tank MPG = 27.279 Worst tank MPG = 23.495 changed oil @ 4132 No problems We were on vacation last week, so the car was not driven that week as this is a company car, and we took the wives Freestar. So actually the miles driven per week is about 702.</DIV> |
How much was left on your oil life monitor?

A lot 50-60%, can't remember for sure. Must be figuring 7000 miles oil change. |
Could be, but I do think they know. The programming is not strictly mileage, but takes many conditions of use into account. Some people consider it "cheap insurance", but I feel it is a waste of resources to change your oil too soon. Personally, I feel more than safe running it down to ~10%. |

I agree that it could go longer, but the boss wants it changed every 4000 miles, in hopes of getting 200,000 miles out of it. |
Well then, if he pays the piper, he calls the tune. But, chances are it will make 200,000 either way, and if it doesn't, it will be due to something else. |
3 month update Total miles = 9516 Total gallons used = 368.50 overall mpg = 25.82 best tank mpg = 27.279 worst tank mpg = 23.495 changed oil 4132, then 8275 no problems. The transmission shifts smooth, the engine is quiet. Of course I have never been in a Lexus so can't compare. But for the cars / SUV / Mini vans I have driven this is the quietest, and smoothest. As stated before the driver seat needs lumbar control. |
do those have the 3800?
|
This is the 3800. Really nice, smooth quiet engine. 4 month update Total Miles = 13475 Toal gallons = 524.24 overall mpg = 25.70 best tank = 27.279 worst tank = 23.475 Driving a little faster, and not being a slave to the trip computer mpg as much, so I think this is why my overall mileage has went down, but i think it has leveled off in that range of 25-26 every tank. I changed the oil and rotated the tires this morning. No further comments than those listed above positve or negative. I have recommended the car to others in that type car. |
Does the 07 LaCrosse sunroof have a deflector from the factory or is it an aftermarket item? I picked up a used '07 from a local Buick dealer and they told me that it doesn't come with a deflector from the factory. I saw a Malibu with a sunroof and factory installed deflector and noticed that minehas the mount but no deflector. Just wondering..........
|
im sure you can find one online. but dealer probably has one available. maybe they just meant that its not standard.

Total miles 16,598 Gallons used= 649.12 Overall MPG = 25.57 No problems. Just got two new projects (Construction Proj Mgr) that are a good drive from the office, and each other, so my miles should go up as well as my mileage.</DIV> |

Mine does not have a deflector, and it was a factory option. I usually roll the back windows down a crack, to reduce the buffering sound. |

7 month update - final update as I am changing jobs adn the car stays with the company. Miles= 23695 gallons = 927.91 mpg = 25.54 It has been a good car, rides very well, very quiet, 3.8 is smooth and can move. I would recommend this car to anyone in this size and price range. With my car allowance I bought a 2007 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer. Very nice leather seats, rides good, should do well for my job as a constrcution project manager. |
