Hello, I'm new here and have a problem. I bought an 88 Buick Regal from a sale, and there was a clunking sound coming from the rear. I noticed that the 2 tires in front were 14" and the rear pass was a 14" but the rear drivers side was a 15" rim and tire. hmmm, must be the problem. So I head down to the junkyard, and all they have is a 90, 93 and 96 regal. No wheels on the 90, and the 93 had 15" wheels. Oh, well. Pulled a 14" rim off of a Chevy Corsica. It's all GM, right?? Take it home, and , the lug holes don't fit. It won't work. I looked at the other rims that are on the car, and there is a slight difference. I figured it must be slightly different for rims that have drum brakes and rims that have disc brakes, and this Regal has rear disc brakes. So I go back to the junkyard, and return the rim. I find another 14" rim from I think it was an Oldsmobile. Can't remember now, but it had rear disc brakes. So I took the rim over to the 90 Regal in the junkyard to make sure the lug nut holes would work and wallaa , the rim fit. Took it back home and put it on. Tightened the lug nuts and now the wheel won't turn or move. The rim is hitting a piece of the calliper for the disc brake. What's going on. Am I going to have to find a rim specically from a Buick Regal. What makes this Buick so special? Any thoughts or feedback would be great. Thanks.
