My girlfriend has a 89 Regal Custom with a 2.8L and the head gasket just blew, putting 4 liters of coolant into her crankcase. I'm pretty sure these cars only came with 2.8 and 3.1L engines. Does anybody know which engines will fit in this car? (Like would a 3.1L out of a Cavalier fit) And which engines match which transmissions, (it currently has a 4spd OD trans in it). Would a 3.8L fit? Don't worry about trying to dumb down your tech talk, I'm a mechanic so i'll know what your talking about.
