Default Fuel line leak

I have an 05 Lacrosse with a leaking fuel line. I found the leak back where the steel line connects to the hose from the tank. My problem now is I cannot get the connection apart. It's not a connection I've seen before. It looked simple enough, remove the plastic clip and pull apart. I can turn the steel line back and forth in the fitting, but it will not pull apart. What am I missing?

If you didn't get the problem solved yet, it may require a special tool to relax the retainer fingers in one end of the connection in order to remove/separate it.

There are special O rings in the female connection that are resistant to unleaded fuel and you can replace them if needed.

Thanks Hanky, I had the tool to separate the line. Unfortunately it was so badly rusted in that I ended up breaking the connector trying to get it apart. I ended up going to my local NAPA and getting replacement nylon fuel line and the appropriate connectors to repair it. It's now up and running with no leaks.

Always nice to know when a job is finished, thanks for the update.
