I have a 98 lesabre and it is making a weird noise. After 20 minutes or so of driving or idle it will start to make a "churping sound" then will start to make a loud squel (?). I have replaced the belt, pully, alternator and intake manifold recently. Belts are tight.I am not sure what it is was hoping someone could help me. My wife and I are on a limited income with 3 kids so would like to fix this without going to a shop. Also, could this be the transmission causing this or the hormonic balancer?

i have run into an issue recently with my fiancees truck which was very similar, and it was a NIGHTMARE..

turns out that it had a very slight coolant leak, and when the coolant would get onto the crank pulley, it would cause the belt to slip, hence the noise. i fixed the leak, and the leak seems to have gone away...its been a few weeks now *knocks on wood*

Did you do the intake manifold yourself? I know that these cars had coolant leak issues.

when it is squealing, and you sit in the car, with it running, and turn the wheel, does it change any?
