Can anyone explain how to correctly trouble shoot a/c problems? I have checked my fuse and its good I checked all the wires and they all seem fine but I am still not getting any power to the compressor. Does anyone know how to jump out the thermostat? I'm not exactly sure where the thermostat is. Thanks! any help would be appreciated... |
How about does anyone know where I could find the Ambient Air Temperature Sensor: A/C Ona 1992 Park ave

It may be the gas is low.
If the gas is low in the system it will not allow the compressor to pump. So adding some gas may make it turn on. Normally there is a high and a low pressure switch for cycling. There is also a safety circuit that will not allow a compressor to run and burn up without freon/oil mix in the system. When you loose r134A gas from a slow leak, the oil remains in the system. When the system in normal, with enough gas present, the compressor pumps up pressure till the high pressure is reached and it turns off, thus cycling.. Try adding a can of freon to see if the compressor will start up. If it does then check for a temp of 50 degrees, or lower at the vent while on max cool. Two cans should be all you need. Do not add any oil unless something has been replaced, like the compressor or the dehydrator. Hope this helps. <!-- var SymRealOnLoad; var SymReal; Sym() { window.open = SymWinOpen; if(SymReal != null) SymReal(); } SymOnLoad() { if(SymRealOnLoad != null) SymRealOnLoad(); window.open = SymRealWinOpen; SymReal = window.; window. = Sym; } SymRealOnLoad = window.onload; window.onload = SymOnLoad; //--><!-- var SymRealOnLoad; var SymReal; Sym() { window.open = SymWinOpen; if(SymReal != null) SymReal(); } SymOnLoad() { if(SymRealOnLoad != null) SymRealOnLoad(); window.open = SymRealWinOpen; SymReal = window.; window. = Sym; } SymRealOnLoad = window.onload; window.onload = SymOnLoad; //--><!-- var SymRealOnLoad; var SymReal; Sym() { window.open = SymWinOpen; if(SymReal != null) SymReal(); } SymOnLoad() { if(SymRealOnLoad != null) SymRealOnLoad(); window.open = SymRealWinOpen; SymReal = window.; window. = Sym; } SymRealOnLoad = window.onload; window.onload = SymOnLoad; //-->The External temp sensor, on most models is on the center post in front of the radiator.
