wet carpet on passenger side, front & rear
 

I noticed a wet spot on the passenger side near the door. Pulled up carpet and it was soaked underneath. Kept pulling carpet up and it was really soaked all the back to the rear. Wow! Couldn't see any hole in floor pan to indicate water coming in. Only thing I could think of was condensation forming and just staying there, not evaporating. Anyone have this problem with their 93 Century? Ed Parauka

Check the door and windshield seals. You could have a hole or rotten seals. Also, check around the firewall for rust or holes.

Can't see any holes in floor pan. Seals around door and window seem good and tight. Windshield seems o.k. too. It's a mystery, all right. So, I took out all the wet underlay insulation, mopped up the floor, used a hair blow dryer to dry out the carpet, and put back the carpet, and hope for the best. Ed

Sometimes it's better to leave the carpet out and have someone run the hose over the front and side of the vehicle and without opening the doors on that side have a flashlite handy and look for a water trail coming from possibly the lower windshield poor door seal or even a plugged door drain that won't allow water that comes into the door to drain out the intended drains.

I found the source of water coming in. Rusted hole in right front inside fender. Took off tire and the splash panel, and there they were. 3 rusted spots. Took some pics. Outside and inside. Think I'll get some roofing flashing tar and smear it all around. Ed

I love pics,lol..i saw in homedepot today,plumbing aisle,spray rubber flashing,it looked cool.Just an idea..On second thought those holes are big.Let us know how it turned out.

Hi, Thanks for interest. First, I'm prepping the rust by applying a rust preventative called "Rust Mort" made by SEM corp. I used it on my old Plymouth and it really stops anymore rusting cold. It requires 2 to 3 applications, every 24 hours. Then, you can paint over it. (It's a bother, but worth it).

So, I'm in that process now. I hope by next week sometime, I'll be done. And I'll post some more pics. Ed

Well, I got the roofing flashing tar with aluminum sheeting on it. Here are 3 pics. Now, to wait for a good rain to see what happens. Ed

That's a nasty rust hole. Looks like you have it sealed up well! Fingers crossed it's sealed :D
