hi i was told i needed a fuel pump for my 95 riviera non supercharged 3800. problem is, i found several fuel pumps but they are in 1996 and up rivieras. are the fuel pumps all comaptible? or do i need a specifically 1995 riviera pump for it? ive noticed that the ones for sale will say 1995, and then there are others that say 1996-1999...anyone know if theyll fit with the 1995s too?

i had the fuel filter replaced and it still is acting up...when you step on the gas from a standstill or when driving, it sputters like its not getting fuel from the tank..other than that it drives normal but when you step on it, thats when it acts up. my uncle who is my mechanic said that 9 out of 10 its the pump or filter, so we changed the filter and it drove a whole lot better, but in the end its still the same result. any suggestions?

if you suspect the fp, then you need to get a pressure tester on the rail.

you want to check pressure at idle, WOT, and after shut down. you can simulate WOT by just pulling the vacuum line off the pressure regulator. then post your resluts.

may be the fpr, but i would suggest you to test and diagnose, rather than just swapping parts on guesses.
