New Roadmaster Owner

Hello there my fellow Buick-ers, I'm new to the site and wanted to get some intel on 2 Roadmaster's that Im trying to decide to get. The first is a LT1 '95, clean as h*ll with 126,xxx on the odo and drives like a dream and the other is a '92 with 75,xxx, clean as h*ll and drives just the same. My question is which of the two motors are more "reliable" in terms of servicing, repair costs, etc. Both motors I know are great, but being a "shade tree" mechanic, I want to minimize taking either to a garage for repairs, thanks!!

Hi Jugghead !
Welcome to the site.
Buick doesn't make em like that anymore.
A lot would depend on if the mileage was all highway vs local.
Those kind of miles for those vehicles are just broken in.
My own opinion is if you are planning on getting one of them it would be in your best interest to learn as much as possible about them because the folks that used to repair them are disappearing fast. They are not as complicated as today's cars and you could if you were able do a lot of the necessary work yourself.
They both are probably OBDI equipped which makes any electronic repairs less complicated. As a qualified shade tree mechanic it would be a good idea to get hold of a shop manual. The biggest problem might be getting replacement parts, but they are available if you shop around. In either case I know I didn't answer your question, but they were both good.

Hey there, thanks Hanky for the reply. I think im leaning more towards the '95 model. The gentleman who owns it uses it as a daily driver about 3x a week and it gets "some" hghwy to and from work. He's really kept it up with care, so that's the deciding factor for me. My main concern would be the distributor issues that these LT1's have, but hey, I suppose every vehicle has its "achilles heel".

If that is the only thing you need to keep an eye on that's not bad at all !
