Just wondering if anyone knew if there was any way to use spindles, etc. off of any other car onto a 63 Riv to convert to disc brakes in both front and rear.

There's always a way. Check out Hot Rod magazine and look at the modifications that some of the car owners implement . They almost always list the manufacturers of the trick components used to customize the cars.

People think of disc brakes as being superior, but, unless you do a lot of mountain driving or racing, they do not provide significant advantage over a properly functioning drum design. They also causesomewhat more drag and so may lower your MPG and raise your ET.

If you often heat up your brakes enough to cause fade, or like the look or just need "the best", go for it. But the difficulty and cost would put this way down my list of things to do.

PS: Disc brakes are also less likely to be affected by standing water, but I don't expect you'll be fording many streams in your Riviera.Edited by: MrBSS
