I have a 1992 Regal Custom it has a AM/FM Cassete. It is a two piece unit. Does anyone know of a replacement unit that is a CD Player that would work?

I can help

Scosche made a mounting kit that goes where the cassette playeris. I don't know if they still make it or not, but you can probably find one on the internet. This kit will fit any "din" size radio (which is the most common size). If you've ever replaced a factory radio, you know there is no wire cutting of the vehicles factory wires involved, you just go to best buy and buy a wire harness that plugs into your car, you will also need an antenna adapter and an antenna extension. Here's why. your actual factory radio tuner is located behind your glove box. it's a silver metal box and can be identified because there is an antenna wire plugged into it. you must remove the tuner and unplug the wire harness (this is your radio power and speaker wires). you will have to get some 18 guage speaker wire (about a foot and a half for each wire), wire the speaker wire from the harness that comes with your radio to the harness you buy at best buy or wherever. this will extend the harness so it will reach from your new stereo to the harness that plugs into your factory tuner. the antenna adapter plugs into the antenna wire you unplugged from your factory tuner, connect the antenna extension, and route the wire harness and the antenna extension to your new stereo, (where your factory cassette player is right now. I've done several of these as i used to install mobile entertainment professionally and the first time you do this vehicle it will probably take a while. As someone who has done this vehicle many times, it still took me an average of about 45-60 minutes. IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY: to remove the cassette player i beleive you will have to remove the ash tray and there should be the screws holding in the cassette player under the dash. to remove the tuner, go from underneith by the passenger kick panel, you will have to remove the black plastic peice that runs under you dash board to get to it.

Good luck!
