93 Buick Regal Custom. 3.8l
I received a 93 Buick Regal from my grandfather after he passed. The car was and still is not running. However I got to playing with it to try and figure out if the fuel pump was functional or not and discovered something very strange . Whenever I have the key in the accessory position, the fuel pump does not prime itself, however, if the key is in the accessory position and I turn the radio on/off, the fuel pump primes. I don't even know where to start with this thing . Any suggestions would be helpful . Thanks in advance .

Seems fuel pump should see power when in run position, prior to starting. ACC would play radio and maybe blower motor, things like that. Don't see how it should power fuel pump? Again something Buick probably does.
Usually when things like that occur your establishing a better ground by running in series with something else or a better parallel grounding with another device active. Since fuel pumps work on grounded side of circuit only, after all they're immersed in gasoline.
I'd start with battery ground or battery itself, car is old. Check how lights work off battery alone and work back to fuel pump ground itself. Somebody else may have better answer, see what comes along......
