New to 6 volt
 

I recently purchased a 1953 Buick Special and noticed that the 6 volt battery positive was connected to the ground strap is this correct? Also what's all involved to convert to 12 volt system? Does everything electrical need to be upgraded or replaced? Any information would be greatly appreciated!
Also where is the best couple of places to order parts for 1953 Buick Special?

I ended up buying a 12 volt conversion kit with a new hi torque starter..
If you can find one try and 8 volt battery first or i suggest 12 volt conversion with HEI conversion on original distributor. Good luck!

Thank you for the reply. I don’t see an issue yet. I’m still going through it. I did hook the battery up wrong to start. This may of caused a fuse to blow in the radio. I’m also unsure if the generator is charging the battery. I need to dive a little deeper.
