When you look under some of our newer vehicles they have in attempts to reduce cost and weight made some parts that make one wonder how they held up as long as they did. It appears as if the bean counters have exceeded what they felt they could get away with.
Mechanics and technicians have forever blamed the engineers for some of the problems, but the bean counters were responsible for trying to reduce costs and wanted parts made cheaper and pushed to the limit.
