Hi, I bought a 92 Skylark, Gray with Blue Interior from a friend for 125.00. He thought it had blown head gaskets, but it only needed a water pump. After putting that on, I have decided to keep the car and drive it fairly regularly. It has a few problems, one of which being that the Tilt steering colummn will not stay in a fixed position. I mean it just goes up and down all day, and is kind of frustrating. I am mechanically inclined (i.e. I put on the waterpump, have done head gaskets on SB Chevys, Tune up work, Maintenence work, fuel injection and computer repair, etc.) but I have never worked on a tilt steering wheel. Does anyone know what kind of time it would involve to repair this colummn or should I just get one from the local junkyard. P.S. What forum does a skylark owner post in? I saw Century, Regal, etc. But no Skylark? Thanks, Dave Grady |
