New guy with 92 Buick lesaber

Hey guys my name is Tyler I'm 28 and just picked up a 92 lesaber custom for 200 bucks 92 k miles new tires cold air and no rust it runs like a top also
Reason I'm here is to put a little flair in my car no big rims or subs for me I would like to put a set of chrome steel wheels and wide whites with spider caps on it and cut two coils off each spring
I know there will be some say don't cut coils but if I do it with a grinder with a cut off wheel I'll be ok
Only question is how hard will the front be to cut the coils ? Did it on my 85 caddy but it did not have struts

Welcome to the forum! Please don't cut the coils..if you want to lower your car, do it the right way. Cutting the coils will throw off the spring rate, possibly causing a bouncy ride. To get the coils off, you need a special spring compressor. This is something you DON'T want to do in your garage with some clamps. More than likely, you will get hurt. If you want to do it right, measure your springs, and buy some that are made for another car that are lower.

Xlt2k gave you some good advice. Find another way to accomplish what you want to do.
Those springs are under a lot of pressure and the only safe way to relieve that pressure is with a spring compressor(s) and disassemble the strut assy.
Until you do that you are taking a dangerous chance trying to cut them.

How much are springs for these cars ? I'm also going to run bellflower tips and a drawer knob grill flaked Green moon steering wheel satin green paint with a pearl white mettal flaked roof with green glass . I know what you guys are thinking here my car is to new to build in the early 60's style but it will have to work till I get the 46 and 49 chevy coupes built .
I'm a young guy with one kid and another on the way and can't stand cars newer than 62 but I bought this to haul the kids around in but I still want to give it a cool look .
My 85 Cadillac I've had for 11 years it has a Cadillac 500 with a new 5 speed manual and lace paint

You should post up some pictures of your rides. They sound very interesting.

A quick search showed none directly available for the LeSabre, but I did come across these:

87-94 Skylark - http://cgi.ebay.ca/Lowering-Springs-...item27a164352b

92-96 Roadmaster - http://www.andysautosport.com/buick/...p00179247.html

I'm not sure if they will fit your car or not, but that will give you a rough idea about the cost.
