New Buick Owner

About 2 weeks ago I picked up a 98 Century Limited. 1st "performance" mod soon to be installed is the revised front sway. The original one was still on there and thanks to the roads here, it decided to go separate ways on me. As usual I'm going to have lots of questions and will try to search most of them before I post my long wish/what if list.

I bookmarked quite a few YouTube how-to and service videos as well as grabbed a Haynes book. No 3800s/c sleeper dreams till I get my project car running again.

Welcome to the forum! Good to see another Century around here ;)

I got it as a beater, but realized it's not soo much a beater. I also added a few pics to the gallery.

Hi Merc6 , welcome to the site. No matter what they say , there's no ride like a Buick ride !

Nice! It looks a lot like mine, only a little older. I love that interior and sunroof. :D

Here's mine:

Ain't that the truth. haha. Even compared to other w-bodies, my Century feels so much more comfortable.

Going to tackle the solid sway bar tomorrow after work. The car didn't really act like it missed that hollow sway. I expected exaggerated body roll but the car seems to mask the broken sway like a wounded cat. For the age of this car it actually moves and handles nicely. When it comes time I will jump on the quick strut bandwagon. No need to go adjustable like I plan on taking it to an Auto X when I have a project car already. Still searching before I make that list.

If you want to stiffen the suspension a little, you can use Grand Prix GTP struts. From what i've read, they are a little stiffer, and also lower the car a little as well.

Any particular year? I hear similar for the Bonneville SSE and SSei and possibly Olds intrigue Autobahn package for brakes.

I think it would be the 1997-2003 models. Also, most of the things for the Regal should fit the Century. They're essentially the same car.

yeah I found that out. Spotted a few regals in the J yard I might see if there are some goodies left like a auto dim mirror, headlights, fog lights, and armrest latch.
