Transmission Problems.
I have the 2006 Lucerne with the v6. When I drive between 50 and 60 it goes in and out of overdrive. If I drive below 50 or above 60 everything is fine. Car has 102,000 miles and has not had the rransmission flushed and filters done. In googling I get a variety of opinions. Most seem to say the service has a better than average chance of causing more serious transmission problems. Should I just drive in 3rd unless I'm going over 60 then manually shift to OD and hope I can get a lot more service from. my transmission or........ |
What you might consider would be to have the vehicle computer checked for any codes.
It would help provide some direction. Autozone doesn't charge for this service. |
Will do. Not good with newer cars. Always had experienced a dash light, check engine soon, or something then knew to have computer checked. Thanks |
Unfortunately, not all problems will throw a code.
Then a problem may require at least 2 times when something malfunctioned before the service lite will illuminate. Then, some codes will remain in the memory even if the problem corrected itself a few times and the light again will not come on. Of course there are those that will illuminate the service lite instantly if it affects emissions and those stay on. |
