I'm sure that everyone is familiar with the tone that more cars give when you open the drivers door with the ignition off but the key still in the ignition. This is intended as a reminder not to leave your keys in the car, so this tone is supposed to stop when you take the key out of the ignition. For the last few days, my 2000 LeSabre continues to give the tone when I take the key out. If anything, the "ding" tone speeds up when I take the key out. If I close the door and open it again in a few seconds, it continues to make this sound. However, if I let it sit for a while and then open the door again, the tone does not sound. I'd love to narrow this down without paying a dealership a fortune to diagnose it. If anybody has any ideas as to what could be causing this, I'd appreciate the help. |
Which device is causing the dinging..
Check the manual.. Sounds like the lights are left on.. etc. . Good Luck. |
Check if you are removing the key while ignition is turned to the ACCESSARY position, or any othe position than OFF.
I have the same problem. |
