Default Questions about 3.8 replacement

Hello all. I’ve recently purchased a really nice used 2001 LeSabre with 100k that ended having been overheated to the point of no return. Long story.

Im considering cutting losses and selling as parts or replacing engine with a good used stock engine (or SC 3800 as it’s only a couple hundred more and everything is OEM).

Other than local yards, does anyone have a reputable source? My local yards are not trusted.

Installing the L36 is “as simple as” a re flash and a different passenger side axle?

Is there a post detailing specific preventative maintenance issues to handle while swapping? I read the coolant elbows and metal manifold gaskets.

I did a ton of searching and reading in many different forums and although I didn’t find any write ups with pictures it seems like a pretty easy task, even getting the back bolt out of the trans if I do non-SC 3800. Any other saved reference material on this topic would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance.
