i just put a new pcv valve in my 89 and out of everything i've done including spark plugs, fuel filter, clean tb, new tranny/radiator fluidair filters etc. this part has made my mpg go up way more than any of the other things. so my question is whether or not this type of gain is common with the replacement of a pcv valve. it seems unbelievable to me, but it happened. ive got about 2-3 more mpg now. weather in omaha is warmer now but it is about the same as when i got the car about a year ago wit crappy mileage. also the valve was starting to get clogged when i took it out. just tryin to see if any of you guys have had something like this happen to you.

pcv will most definitely help your mpg.

but keep in mind that the warmer weather will help drastically too. winter blend gas, cold weather, and just letting your car idle to warm up kills you mpg.

indeed, ditto what sam said.. also, if you have added any injector cleaner to the gas as of late or anything of the like, if it's been some time since anyone has done that, the injectors could have been all gummed up so, either or. Glad to hear your gas millage jumped up though. that's a good thing. Specially with the price of gas these days.
