I have a 1995 buick lesabre with 140K.Sometimes it starts fine, but on occasion when I start the car it will run only for a few seconds and then will die. After 20-40 attempts at starting, it will start and run just fine. I changed the fuel pump because I was concerned with the pressure, but this didn't seem to help. I changed the IAC and fuel filter and still didn'tget any results. I checked all the electrical grounds that Icould think of or find, but this didn't help either.Any suggestions?

Have you tried to clean the throttle body assembly and the air intake ?

Just shooting carburator cleaner near the butterfly valve should be ok.

Yes - I sprayed it while it was running, then I sprayed it and left it set overnight. Sprayed it again, and it started and ran fine. One thing that it does do it to cut out at about 4000 RPM's. Thats why I thought the throttle body might need cleaning. It still didn't address the not starting on occasion.

have you noticed if you problem came more often on wet day ? A coil
grounding itself on the body or the coil plate can do that, after many
trie the part came dry and the problem disappear... You can buy a spray
that will electricly isolate you cable, coil etc.... make sur
you car start Ok and spray this. If it help something around the coil
will need to be changed

I sprayed the coils this weekend - so far so good. I'll let you know at the end of the week how it does. Thanks

Well - it's been 5 days now and the car has started every time. Maybe it was a short at the coils. Thanks for your suggestion.
