Question Cv joint or transmission problem?

Possible transmission or CV axel problem

Hello all. I have a 2001 Lesabre, 185,000Miles. I have replaced front wheel bearings, both lower control arms, struts, etc. I have been having a popping noise coming from front end, usually happening after a full stop, and then hitting the gas pedal. I thought it might be a cv joint locking up and releasing. I checked all boots, and they are all intact, no cuts , no leaks. I jacked the car up, and ran it at 20-30 mph, and noticed the drivers side wheel was turning freely, but the passenger side was not. It would occasionally turn, then stop and repeat. The caliper was free, so it was not a brake problem (been replaced). The passanger side is where I was hearing the popping noise come from also. Is this the cv joint, either inner or outer gone, or is the a transmission problem? and if so, at what price to fix, and how to do it? Any help would be really appreciated. I do almost all my own work on my cars. Thanks
