While researching why I couldn''t get power to my Aux or Cigarette lighter (turned out the fuses weren''t fast enough to keep the wires in the final harness to keep from melting and shorting out), I discovered that Fuses 22 and 23 can be taken out of the relay circuits and given power permanently. That lets me charge my computer in the car even if I have to run into the store for a bit. (Yes, I hide the laptop to prevent window breakage!) So if you are like me and have a reason to overide the battery protection, and realize that is exactly what you are doing, you can move the fuses to the other side of the position and get permanent power.

For those that need a bit more explanation, on the 2002 Lesaber, there is a 40amp fuse and a 40 amp relay under the rear seat that provide power to Fuses 22 and 23 under the engine hood (front left as you face the car from the front, just by the window wash resevior). This relay and fuse part in the rear protect the main power harness from damage and the relay turns off any forgotten accessories before the drain the battery.

However, Fuse 22 and 23 actually have a three position plug area. The outside plug have 12v all the time. The middle line is the power to the cigarette or Aux outlet. The inner most lines where Fuse 22 & 23 are adjacent are the relay power. The fuse from the factory come in the positions closest to each other. To get permanent power to both you move them to the position furthest from each other.

If you number the slots 22a-22c & 23a-23c, Factory 22b+22c and 23a+23b, Permanent 22a+22band 23b+23c. Note that b is the power to the outlet.

Hope this helps someone
