’95 Blower Motor Control Module/Resistor

The blower motor is not working on my father-in-law's 95 LeSabre
Limited with automatic climate control. The control panel seems to be
working just fine so I'm guessing it could be one of two issues:



1) Blower motor

2) Blower control module



Please share your experiences. Specifically, where are these parts
located on this car, and has anyone had problems with these
components. Thanks.

Which blower are you talking about, the heater or the radiator?

engine cooling system is fine.

These blowers have a history..

Check for voltages at the blower.

I won't have access to the car until Thanksgiving when I go to visit my inlaws.

I am hoping that it's just the blower motor itself -- the control modulator is pricey.

Are the blower motors pretty accessible on LeSabres? On most cars, they're located underneath the glovebox on the passenger side.



I don't have any experience working on these cars so any help or instructions on removing internal trim for access to the blower would be greatly appreciated.

Its located mid firewall ... Engine compartment.


Somebook indicationsare that its possible that loose wiring may be the problem and could be an easier repair..

Bassasasin is correct that the blower is accessabel from the engine compartment on the firewall.


I looked at mine and it looks like the power is coming from the relay bank that is located on the firewall. You will have to remove the plastic cover to get access to them. I would check the relays for a malfunctioning one. To check which oneyou will just have to trace the main wire from the fan to it distanation. This would be the easiest to check.

The troubleshooting guide recommends looking for power at the blower speed relay switch.

Settings.

Blower speed relay: REMOVED

Ignition switch: RUN

mode selector NORM

Blower switch: HIGH



Check pin 86 to 85 for Voltage if not check fuse 5D

Check voltage at pin 30 should get voltage.



Anyway theres a start.. without pulling the blower.

Thanks for the help, guys. Replaced the blower motor, and it now works.
