Brake Piston compressing

Hi All, New to this forum as I recently became the proud owner of a Buick LaCrosse.
As mentioed above, I have a 2005 LaCrosse. I need to replace the rear brakes on it. I've done several brake jobs so I'm familiar with the process. I've never had a problem until today. I'm trying to compress the piston back into the caliper, but it won't budge. Has anyone run into this? Is there a different method than the old C-clamp method?

We have had several 1990's Chevy Luminas . Some had rear disks .

Best I remember , the rear caliper piston screwed in . Think I used the points of needle nose pliers to rotate the piston ?

Do not know if your Buick uses a similar design ?

We recently purchased a 2006 Lacrosse , but have not touched the brakes , yet . They seem to be fine .

Try this link and see if it works for you .
