I still have the mileage problem, as I noted in a previous post.
Lots of viewers, no answers. The mechanic I go to for almost
everything said that the shop where I had the engine scoped for $40.00
- $50.00 paid about $10,000.00 for their analyzer. If I take it
to a dealer, and pay considerably more for an engine analysis, I will
get a more accurate and conprehensive analysis since their analyzer ran
about $40,000.00. Any opinions on this?

They should be able to scan it with the Tech 2, the GM scan tool and see what is wrong if anything. What year is your car? All the stuff the mechanic can see come from the cars computer. Older cars don't have as much stuff to tell the scan tool. I think the main thing they need to look at is the Fuel trim % It should be close to 0%. If it is going higher, then that says that the engines computer is adding fuel to compensate for maybe a vacuum leak and if it is going lower than 0% then maybe it is taking away fuel for any number of posible causes. They should also make sure your trans is shifting into 4th gear and TCC is locking up.

I just saw your other post. Being and older car they should look at the Block learn. that is the same as the fuel trim. That is what GM used to call it. On the scan data list it should be close to 128. that would be equal to 0% fuel trim.
