Impact power cut off
 
so do these cars have some kind of power cut off that operates in an impact such as a crash?

Roger that on inertia switch, completely forgot those. Had a '90 Ford Escort and that had one in the back hatchback section. If car wouldn't start had a manual reset button there to try first. Wouldn't have to be in a major accident to shut off fuel pump, just a mild bumper bump.

I think I’ll get a Ford one for my el Camino as I think they are easier to wire up.I’m getting ready to install a new fuel tank with EFI electric pump so might as well up date now. I had a T Birst Super Coupe that got bumped in a parking lot and it opened the circuit. Easily reset too.

i still don’t know where the Buick one is. I’ll have too root around now that I know what they look like.
