Converting to disc brakes 1969 Skylark

I picked up a set of spindles from a 1969 Chevelle and am converting to disc brakes on my 69 Skylark.
Someone told me that the setup will not work with 14” rims and you have to go with 15” to fit he calipers. Is this true?
